Bank Place Clinic Staff:

Dr. Colin Gleeson, MB,Bch,BAO, DRCOG,DCH, MRCGP is a Family Doctor  and a Graduate of University College Cork (1975). He has delivered medical care from this Centre in Castletownbere since 1980.
He is the Medical Officer to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Castletownbere , Honorary Medical Adviser to the R.N.L.I. (Lifeboat),  Medical Officer for the Department of the Marine and to An Post.

His special interests are: Paediatrics, Care of the Elderly, Eye Disease, Ultrasound Diagnosis and Treatment, Sports Medicine, Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.

Dr. Fiona Kelly has joined Dr. Gleeson at Bank Place Clinic, Castletownbere.           Dr. Kelly is returning to her roots, as she hails from Brandy Hall, Castletownbere.            

Dr. Kelly is a fully qualified Family Doctor and a Member of the Irish College Of General Practitioners (M.I.C.G.P.)                                                                                                            She also has extensive further training and experience in the following areas:

SPORT’S MEDICINE, in which she has further experience/training and has a Master’s Degree in Sport’s Medicine.

WOMEN’S HEALTH, in which she has further experience/training and the added qualification of a Diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health. (D.O.W.H.)

MENTAL HEALTH, in which she has further experience/training and a qualification of a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry. (D.C.P.)

CHILDREN’S HEALTH, where she has further experience/training and a qualification of Diploma in Children’s Health. (D.C.H.)

Marie-Noel ColemanS.R.N. is the Practice Nurse and she is an integral part of the Practice since Jul 2002. She is registered with An Board Altranais since 1986 and has extensive experience in all aspects of Nursing for more than 20 years. Her special interests are Care of the Elderly, Family Planning and Women’s Health. (She runs her own Female Health Clinic on Thursday Mornings).

Mrs Margaret Gleeson, B.Sc is the Practice Manager and she runs everything “behind the scenes” and is instrumental in the smooth running of the Practice for more than 15 years. She occasionally emerges from the hub of the Practice to run the Reception Desk early in the morning.

Mrs. Aileen O’Neill and Mrs. Christina O’ Sullivan are the Practice Receptionists.  They are the vital ‘first contact’ either on the phone or at Reception and you find  them friendly, highly efficient and extremely discreet.  They are an essential part of the smooth running of the day-to-day Practice at Bank Place Clinic.

Mrs. Karen Crowley works behind the scenes and assists in the paperwork aspect of the Practice.
